Solar Gen Guide

Energy My Way

Electrician Daniel Gilbert

Hi there – I’m Daniel. I got interested in off-grid solar power a while back. While researching different kinds of systems, devices, and batteries, I found that the information was scattered around the internet.

I'm a licensed electrician, so it wasn't too difficult for me to put together the system myself. But even if you're not familiar with electrical work, there are plenty of resources out there to help you get started. In fact, I've put together a guide on my website that walks you through every step of building your own off-grid solar system.

Professional Summary

Daniel Gilbert is a man of many hats who has been involved in the construction and maintenance industry for over 10 years. He started out as an electrician before moving on to work with contractors, then eventually into management positions. Daniel loves that he's able to provide direction and training to staff members while also providing stakeholders with updates on projects.

He’s proud that he can help people by directing them in the right direction, but it doesn't stop there! Daniel is also proud of his ability to handle any problem that might come up when overseeing projects.

DC Isolator Switch

DC isolator switches are a great way to disconnect your solar system from everything else. They can be used during maintenance tasks, when you need access and caution for one component but not others in the circuit at that time.

Fuses and Circuit Breakers in Your System

Fuses and circuit breakers are there to protect you from something that would be harmful if it were allowed through. The charge controller and inverter have fuses already. These safety features protect your system’s wiring from getting hot, melting, or even catching fire by shutting down the power before things get too out of control.

One of the most important things to know about solar power is that it requires a few key pieces of equipment. These include busbars, displays, and cable glands for connecting panels together in series or parallel depending on how much energy you want from each one.
